Capabilities

BCIT is a polytechnic institution that has approximately 350 programs across six schools, and has over 18,000 full time, and 28,000 part time students. With credentials from “Certificates to Masters” BCIT produces graduates critical to the economic, social, and environmental prosperity of British Columbia. BCIT produces 90 percent trade related graduates in the province, in most of the trades, including machinists, and other trades critical to the aerospace sector. BCIT has a 300,000 square-foot state-of-the-art Aerospace Technology Campus featuring a fleet of 20 aircraft including a Boeing 737, and Bombardier CRJ aircraft. This dedicated campus in Richmond B.C. specializes in Aviation and Aerospace programs and is a key supplier of labor in the sector:

The Centre for Applied Research and Innovation (CARI) is the home of BCIT's three dedicated research groups: MAKE+, NRG and SMART, and supporting labs. CARI has been a hub of multidisciplinary research and development projects for business and industry for 25 years. Research activities at CARI focus on product and process development and evaluation.
